Cuando se anunciaron las nominaciones al Oscar el jueves (22 de enero) por la mañana, KPop Demon Hunters se convirtió en la película número 14 en ser nominada tanto a mejor largometraje animado como a mejor canción original.
La canción nominada de KPop Demon Hunters es, por supuesto, “Golden”, el éxito global que encabezó la lista Billboard Hot 100 durante ocho semanas.
Preparamos una lista de las 14 películas que han recibido nominaciones al Oscar tanto a mejor película animada como a mejor canción original. Una película en la lista, The Princess and the Frog (La Princesa y el Sapo), tuvo dos canciones nominadas al Premio de la Academia: “Almost There” y “Down in New Orleans”, ambas escritas por Randy Newman. Newman también escribió las canciones para otras cuatro cintas en la lista: Cars, Toy Story 3, Toy Story 4 y Monsters, Inc.
Lin-Manuel Miranda y el matrimonio integrado por Kristen Anderson-Lopez y Robert Lopez escribieron las canciones para dos películas de la lista cada cual.
Dos franquicias de películas están representadas con dos películas cada una. Tanto Shrek como Shrek 2 califican, al igual que Toy Story 3 y Toy Story 4. (La primera Toy Story se estrenó en 1995 y la segunda en 1999, ambas antes de la introducción de la categoría de mejor largometraje animado en 2002).
Cuando se introdujo esta categoría, la nominación se otorgaba a la(s) persona(s) más involucrada(s) en la creación de la película. Las reglas actuales establecen: “El destinatario designado debe ser la(s) persona(s) clave creativa(s) más claramente responsable(s) del logro general. Hay un máximo de CUATRO nominados designados, uno de los cuales debe ser el director acreditado que ejerció el control directorial, y el/los otro(s) deben tener un crédito como director o productor”.
